We are profoundly saddened by the passing of Rachael McLean. Rachael was one of the first contributors to the magazine bringing her love of life and joy for getting her hands in the dirt. Rachael saw the beauty in small things. She believed in being gentle to the earth and each other. Rachael believed in community and the positivity of collective action. Her values and vision were captured not only in the way she lived her life but in the words she carefully curated for every story she shared with us. There was much left for Rachael to do but she has planted a seed with her presence that will continue to grow, blossom and bloom.

Rachael we will miss you. Knowing you was a true gift.

On behalf of the At Home on the North Shore family we send our deepest sympathy to the McLean and Wadden family.

Crystal likes to think about her forays in journalism like interval training. " I have had a wonderful freedom to be home when I needed to be and work when the spirit moved me. In the spaces between I have learned things about myself, my family and my community that I hope will find a rightful place in the new and refreshed pages of At Home on the North Shore. "
